Police arrests teacher Jahirul Ali for molesting a student in school

Head teacher of a school in Borjalenga, Jahirul Ali is currently in Police custody. Ali was arrested from his residence in Chotojalenga last evening for allegedly molesting a teenager studying at the same school he was teaching.

An FIR was lodged by the parents of the teenager and on the basis of the same, Ali has been arrested. He will be produced in court on Monday.

As per the FIR, Ali summoned the teenager at his office where he forced himself on her. The teenager was taken aback by the inappropriate gesture of her teacher and thus ran away from his office. In the FIR, the parents state that the kid went home and informed the family members about the shocking incident, following which they went to Duwarbond Police station and filed a complaint. They have also mentioned that the kid is still traumatised.

Superintendent of Police, Cachar Mugdhajyoti Dev Mahanta said, “Ali has been arrested on the basis of the complaint lodged by the family members of the girl. Investigation is going on and following that he would be produced in court on Monday. The court will take the findings into consideration and judge the case accordingly.”

Police sources informed that Ali has been charged under section 352 of Indian Penal Code. The 352 IPC stands for wrongful confinement. It states, “Whoever wrongfully confines any person shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, or with both.”
