Silchar’s Debanjan Das popularly known as ‘Deathmaker’ in the world of gaming struck one after another deadly bullet at the opponent. For the ones new to gaming, ESL formerly known as Electronic Sports League is a Germany based gaming organisation. In fact, it is the largest and oldest E-Sports company in the world. CSGO (Counter Strike Global Offensive) is a competitive shooting game where two teams (clans) take on each other and the one with the maximum wins in the given period of play wins the match.
The ESL India Premiership took place at an arena in Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai where Debanjan Das and his other four ‘Signify’ teammates defeated Entity Gaming in the grand finale. He is just 21-year-old and is one of the higher ranked players in the country.
Son of an Assam University employee, Debanjan started playing counter strike in 2009 at various gaming parlours in Silchar. In 2016, he first registered himself Online and started competing with players from India and all around the world. Speaking with Barak Bulletin, Debanjan Das said he is happy at the career choice he made for himself as he sees a good future ahead. His family, like all other typical Indian families, opposed his decision to play computer games, but now they too understood that Debanjan is doing well in E-Sports.
“I have got an offer from many South Asian countries to play for various clans in different tournaments. There is a lot of opportunities to earn money in gaming, through sponsorships, prize money and others. I love what I do and will continue to do so,” said Debanjan Das.
