Brother, sister arrested with drugs from a house in Barak Valley

Two persons, including a woman, were arrested with drugs from their residence at Gangpar, Madhurbond in Silchar on Sunday.

The arrested persons have been identified as Ajim Uddin Laskar (38), and his sister Hasna Begum (36).

According to sources, police carried out an operation at the house based on a tip-off and nabbed the duo. 46 small plastic containers filled with drugs were found from the house.

The contraband, whose market value was not available as per last available reports, was seized by the police, sources said.

A case has been registered in this regard and the arrested persons will be produced before a court in Silchar on Monday.
