Subimal Bhattacharjee speaks on Cyber Crime and Law at Assam University

Subimal Bhattacharjee, renowned cyber security expert today delivered a lecture in Assam University on Cyber Crime and Cyber Law.

Bhattacharjee was welcomed by the Vice Chancellor Prof Dilip Nath and Registrara Sanjiv Bhattacharjee. Bhattacharjee spoke on the emergence of newer forms of cyber crimes and the efforts of the government to address them. He also spoken on cyber law and its emergence and how laws cannot be changed regularly at the pace in which cyber technology is changing.

He cited examples of how people were being duped by frauds using social engineering and money stolen from account. He touched on the social media and e-commerce related concerns. In the one-hour-twenty-minute lecture, Bhattacharjee mentioned about his various experiences on cyber security matters and also the need to maintain cyber hygiene.

Earlier the VC felicitated Bhattacharjee before the start of the lecture. More than 200 people were there in the audience from the faculty, consisting of administration and students from various department.
