Sad news: Women brutally murdered by neighbours in Patharkandi, Karimganj

While India continues to progress, crimes against women are yet to decline. Today, in a shocking turn of events, a mob killed the woman, after she got involved in a fight over her daughter’s alleged affair with a neighbour.

The women has been identified as Raziya Begum, aged 35 years, and lived with her husband and six children. The unfortunate incident happened in Patharkandi area in Karimganj at around 7: 30 pm yesterday.

Sources have informed that Raziya’s daughter was reportedly in a relationship with a man in the neighbourhood. The matter reached a dramatic turn between the two involved families, which resulted in a brawl. Raziya was supposedly hit and kicked, and the impact caused her death. Though not a motivated murder, police have arrested two persons in this regard last night. An FIR has been filed, and police have started their investigation.

Senior official of Patharkandi police station informed barakbulletin.com, “She was declared dead at the Patharkandi PHC (Primary Health Centre). There were no visible wounds, and the reason for the cause of her death is under investigation.”

Patharkandi is located in Karimganj district in Assam.
