Lightning strikes in Barak Valley; Farmer dead, one critical

On the eve of Deepavali, Barak Valley is struck by mother nature. Flights are unable to land, roads are waterlogged. It is raining cats and dogs and the forecast is not at all promising.
It is not only the Diwali celebration that is at stake. In Patherkandi’s Achimganj area a farmer and his peer were struck by lightning. At around 1:00 PM today while at the paddy field Nizam Uddin a resident of Hatkhola area got stuck by the sudden lightning. He died on the spot while his peer working on the field has been rushed to the hospital and is considered to be critical.
Nizam Uddin is the son of Issaq Ali and lived by his wife, a son and three daughters. He was farming at a field near his residence so his family immediately rushed to after they saw him fall off.
His untimely death has brought shock to the neighbourhood.
