“The new Barak Bridge At Sadarghat will be open for public by early 2019”: Parimial Suklabaidya, Cabinet Minister

Cabinet Minister, PWD (Road Buildings and National Highways), Excise and Fisheries, Parimal Suklabaidya visited the construction site of the new Barak Bridge. After inspection of the ongoing proceedings he assessed that the new bridge will be ready before March 2019. He posted on his official Facebook account, “The construction progress is going fast and expected to complete by March 2019 after which it will be opened for public. I have instructed the engineers and officials to finish the work within the time limit.”

That’s not all; the Minister had another good news for Barak Valley. Soon there will be a new bridge build over river Barak in Badarpur.

Coming back to the under-construction new Barak Bridge at Sadarghat, Suklabaidya’s assessment is that the construction work will be completed by November 2018, and then it will take two months to setup the railings and add the finishing touches. He stated that the Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal wants this construction work to get done in time. “He often asks me about the proceedings,” Suklabaidya said.

During Namami Barak, Chief Minister Sonowal, announced development of three new bridges in Barak Valley and according to Suklabaidya, the Chief Minister wants the construction of the new bridges to start soon. Badarpur will be one of the three bridges, “We are trying to identify two more bridges which can make life easier for people of Barak Valley,” the minister added.

Parimal Suklabaidya, born in 1958 is a prominent political figure in Assam. He has been elected as a Member of Legislative Assembly from Dholai Constituency for the fourth time (1991, 2001, 2006, 2016) in 2016.
