Hailakandi DC Keerthi Jalli transferred to Jorhat; ACS Gurdip Singh Panesar to replace her

2013 batch IAS Officer, the first female deputy commissioner of Hailakandi, Keerthi Jalli has been transferred to Jorhat as DC. She will be replaced by ACS, Grudip Singh Panesar .

Gurdip Singh Panesar will move from the post of joint secretary to the government of Assam, Soil Conservation Department and CEO SLNA (Integrated Watershed Management Program).

In an order issued today the department of personnel, Government of Assam notified about the development.

As per sources, Keerthi Jalli will handover charges to the Gurdip Singh Panesar this week itself.

It is worth mentioning here that Jalli’s tenure as the deputy commissioner of Hailakandi started with a communal riot between two particular communities. One individual died as the police fired to bring the situation under control. Curfew was imposed, the internet was banned in the entire valley. Jalli held peace meetings in each and every part of the district and normalcy was restored.

But the entire Barak Valley will remember Jalli for her efforts during the Poshan Maah. Jalli discovered Gooseberry Candies for which she was awarded a special prize for innovation by chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal.
