Serial blasts jolt Assam; ULFA(I) hands suspected in dropping grenades

For the people living in Dibrugarh, Duliajan, Doomdooma, and Sonari 71st Republic Day celebrations turned into a horrific experience. Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) were used in the two blasts in Dibrugarh while in Duliajan, Doomdooma and Sonari Grenades were thrown in busy areas.

The Assam Police confirmed that the five blasts did not incur any casualties yet and the officials are investing the matter.

“Strongly condemn the bomb blasts in a few places of Assam. This cowardly attempt to create terror on a sacred day only exhibits the frustration of the terror groups after their total rejection by the people. Our Govt will take the sternest action to bring the culprits to book,” read chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal’s tweet.
