BUKSS organised Jookto Media Cricket kickstarts today; six teams to tussle it out 

The eighth edition of Barak Upatyaka Kreeda Sangbadik Sangstha (BUKSS) organised media cricket kickstarts today with an exhibition match between Agartala Press Members and BUKSS committee members. Like last year, this year too socio-welfare organisation Jookto has supported the tournament by associating as its title sponsor.

 

Before the exhibition match, cultural events will raise the curtains. The organisers have informed that several kids will perform various acts and there will be a performance from renowned folk band Dolchut. All the matches will be played at Satindra Mohan Dev Stadium in Silchar.

 

Six teams will participate in the franchisee based league cum knockout tournament. Four of the six teams consist of journalists across media houses in Silchar and the remaining two teams are from Hailakandi and Karimganj respectively.

 

Jookto is an initiative promoted by Subimal Bhattacharjee and his wife Dr. Joyeeta Bhattacharjee to connect people and minds across similar ideas and cultures over multiple platforms. Subimal Bhattacharjee was present during the press meet where he along with Anirban Jyoti Gupta, Dwijendralal Das and Bedobrata Banerjee announced the date and teams officially. Bhattacharjee said he will attend the finals of the tournament which is set to be an exciting one.

The four teams from Silchar are Trinayanee Khabar Heroes, Gamashakti Media Panthers, Freinds Of The Earth and AP Dutta fighters. The league round begins on February 5, 2020, the semi-final matches will be played on February 8 and the final is on February 9.

BUKSS committee members invited all cricket and sports enthusiasts to extend their support by encouraging the players and organisers with their presence.
