APDCL's Negligence; No electricity for more than 36 hours in Nathpara, Silchar
People of Nathpara area which is located in Uttar Krishnapur part III are hassled as there is no electricity in their vicinity since last morning. The residents of Nathpara area do not have adequate water in their house and they are livelihood is disturbed.
One of the residents complained that in this chilly weather the elderly people need a heater to keep them warm but because of the power failure they are unable to use that. “Just because we live in the outskirts of the town, APDCL ignores our trouble and complaints. We informed about the power failure time and again but they responded saying they do not have adequate manpower to sort out the issue,” said a resident.
The locals spotted a fire at the nearby transformer last morning at around 8:00 AM and since then the supply is disrupted. “We immediately informed APDCL about the fire and they said they will look into the matter. In the evening when we called them up they said they are sending a lineman. Today too different people gave different excuses,” the local added.
The resident questioned if the people living in the outskirts are inferior to the ones in the town as their trouble and complaints remain ignored. APDCL officials answered our calls and when we asked the question they disconnected our calls and never answered again. Meanwhile, the people of Nathpara are waiting for a lineman to visit the place and sort out the issue.
