NF Railway earns Rs 2.2 lakh from ticket-less passengers in Badarpur, Silchar and other Railway stations
In a massive ticket-checking drive conducted by Northeast Frontier Railway in some major railway stations under Badarpur Subdivison stations on Wednesday, Rs 2.2 lakhs were earned by penalizing 489 ticketless passengers, an official source informed.
The drive was conducted in major stations under Badarpur Subdivision like Silchar, Badarpur, Karimganj, Haflong, Dharmanagar, Agartala etc. In Badarpur station alone, the NF Railway generated a revenue of Rs 1.5 lakh by penalizing 215 ticketless passengers. Ticket inspection was done inside various passenger and long-distance trains in major stations.
Railway has given emphasis towards vigorous railway ticket checking so as to aware passengers on the need of ticketed traveling. It has always appealed to the passengers to travel with a proper and valid ticket in order to avoid inconvenience at any stage.
The passengers can avail the benefit of Railway’s UTS app, which offers hassle-free and queue-free unreserved ticket booking. With the app, passengers can easily purchase platform tickets, season tickets and unreserved train tickets from any station to any destination without standing in a queue. However, a passenger has to commence the journey within three hours from the booking of the ticket.
