Accident near Rongpur; 1 dead, 1 critical

A horrific accident near Rongpur on National Highway 37, Silchar – Manipur Road. As per available information, a Hero Honda Glamour motorcycle banged on the rear end of a parked truck. The individual who was riding the motorcycle died on the spot while his companion is admitted in Silchar Medical College and Hospital.

The deceased has been identified as Kashipur resident Rahul Lohar. His companion Jontu Thakur is now admitted in the hospital. The parked truck’s registration number read AS 01 7637 while the motorcycle’s was AS11 L 5826.

As per eyewitnesses, the motorcycle was riding at a brisk speed, lost its control and banged into the parked truck. They went on to say that both the riders were intoxicated and were not wearing any head gear.

On the auspecious occassion of Holi a death has brought in a state of shock in Rahul Lohar’s locality.
