Robbery in Silchar; Snatchers ran away with 5 lakh cash in broad daylight

Doctor Shankar Bhattacharjee got tricked and lost about Rs 5 Lakh cash in a shocking turn of events today in Silchar. He had withdrawn Rs 5 Lakh cash from State Bank of India, Silchar branch in the afternoon. He then sat on his own car and asked his driver to drive him to Red Cross Hospital where he got off for some work.

A stranger then went to the car and asked the driver to hand him over a packet, the stranger said Doctor asked him to carry the packet for him. The driver, unaware of what’s in the packet, handed it over to the stranger who then sat on a motorcycle and ran away. The driver rushed to the doctor to say the man you sent ran away, the doctor told the driver he had sent nobody to carry anything and the bag had cash in it.

Well, this is what we have been told by the Doctor Bhattacharjee’s colleague. The doctor has registered a complaint in a nearby Police Station and he mentioned that he had withdrawn Rs 5 Lakh cash which is missing. The Police said they will check various CCTV Camera footages and investigate the matter. Meanwhile they have called the driver for interrogation.

Why did the doctor leave so much cash in his car and not carry it along? Did the driver really had no clue what is in the packet or is there a conspiracy? Questions are plenty and only time and proper investigation will find answers… For now, Doctor’s 5 Lakh cash is missing and snatchers are roaming freely.
