Shramik Special Trains: 46 Barak Valley residents deboarded at Badarpur station
A Shramik Special train, carrying migrant labourers from Chennai, reached Bairabi station of Mizoram on Friday. The train also ferried approx 46 passengers of Assam, who deboarded the train at Badarpur station.
The train reached Badarpur station today morning and all passengers were deboarded following the standard of the procedure (SoP) of the railways.
Out of the total 46 deboarded, 37 are residents of Karimganj and 9 of Cachar. Swab samples were collected from the Karimganj passengers and thereafter they were sent for institutional quarantine at the three dedicated hotels of Karimganj town. Sources informed, 16 were quarantined at Kalpataru Hotel, 6 were quarantined at Hotel and rest were sent to Hotel Radha.
9 passengers from Cachar district were sent to ISBT Silchar for further procedure.
Ministry of Railways is running “Shramik Special” trains from “Labour Day”, to move migrant workers, pilgrims, tourists, students and other persons stranded at different places due to lock down.
These special trains will run from point to point on the request of both the concerned State Governments as per the standard protocols for sending and receiving such stranded persons.
