Overcrowding: "All shops and business establishments to remain closed in Fatak Bazar and New Market," DC Keerthi Jalli signs order
Considering the outbreak of Novel Corona Virus(COVID-19) a potential threat to human life the district administration has decided to take preventive measures. In an order signed by the deputy commissioner of Cachar, Keerthi Jalli it is noted that the administration has observed serious breaching of lockdown protocols.
“It is seen that the advice related to lockdown is not being adhered to by several people,” states the letter. It adds that the administration has observed crowding which could have easily been avoided. “It is noticed and reported from various spheres that street vendors and shopkeepers extending their shops on the footpath is a primary reason for such crowded situations in the streets,” states the letter.
“I, Keerthi Jalli, IAS, District Magistrate, Cachar do hereby promulgate the following U/S 34 of Disaster Management Act,2005. All shops and business establishments will remain closed in Fatak Bazar and New market area,” stated the letter.
This order will come into force with immediate effect and will be valid until further orders, informed the administration.
