SMCH sets record conducting 1291 swab tests in last 24 hours; 27 found positive

In the last 24 hours, a record number (1291) of COVID tests, were conducted at Silchar Medical College and Hospital.  This is the highest the hospital has ever tested in one day.

So far, a total of 12908 people have been tested at SMCH. Of these, 261 have tested positive so far. It is known that in the last 24 hours, 27 people have been diagnosed Covid positive.

At present, 62 patients are admitted to the COVID block of SMCH, informed Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of the Medical College. “There are 56 males, 3 females and 3 children,” Gupta added that yesterday, a 12-year-old patient was discharged from the medical center. So far, 134 people have been admitted out of which 71 patients have been discharged, while unfortunately, one passed away.

Meanwhile, with 38 more new cases in Assam, the number of Covid-19 patients as on June 5 (3 pm) stands at 2153.
