5-month-old tests COVID positive in Cachar; 8 new patients in Barak Valley

Silchar Medical College and Hospital will now have to deal with one of the youngest COVID19 patients in the state. A 5-month-old tested positive earlier today and is being shifted to the COVID block in the hospital.

According to medical sources, the 5-month-old has travel history to Delhi. The baby boy will be provided all necessary medical treatment assured the officials at Silchar Medical College and Hospital.

Apart from the baby, seven others have tested COVID positive on June 20 so far. Officials in Silchar Medical College informed that eight have tested positive in the first slot and there are other slots left to run.

According to the list shared, six of the eight patients are from Cachar while two are from Karimganj.

Cachar patients are, Rahul Roy (23) from Darmikhal, Guldhana Begum Barlaskar (26) from Katigora, Rezuana Begum (22) Ranighat, Baby (name kept confidential) Mazumder (5months) from Katigora, Tajirul Hussain (28) from Sonabarighat and Biswajit Das (27) from Udharbond.

The two Karimganj patients are Moitush Das (23) from Ramkrishnanagar and Ananta Dey (43) from Dullabcherra.

All the patients are asymptomatic and have traveled from either Bangalore or Chennai or Delhi.
