Administration asks Green Heals, Nightingale and two other medical centres to seal buildings for 72 hours 

Office of the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme has issued a letter to Cure Diagnostics, Meherpur, Nightingale Hospital, Meherpur, Green Heals Hospital, Meherpur, City Health Care, Club Road. The letter states that these establishments must restrict any new entry or exit for 72 hours.

This office issued the letter considering the spread of Coronavirus infection among the people who came in contact with Dr. Orina Raha who tested COVID positive on July 1. The following day her driver tested positive and yesterday four other family members and their house help joined Dr. Raha in the COVID block at Silchar Medical College and Hospital after testing COVID positive.

The administration figured that Dr. Raha has attended at least 50 patients spread across three districts of Barak Valley and performed surgeries in private nursing homes too. It has also been learned that she did not reveal all the information initially but now the administration, through its sources managed to gather a clearer picture.

The letter to all the four establishments states, “It is to inform you that Dr. Orina Raha has done several aerosols producing procedures and also has examined many patients in your establishment. She also has many contacts within your establishment. In this regard. in view of the safety of public and your own staffs, you are hereby requested to kindly ensure following activities within your establishments”

1. Closure of all services in your establishment like OPD. Laboratory, OT, Emergency, OPD, Pharmacy, Minor or Major Surgeries etc. for the next 72 hours on receipt of this letter.

2. Only existing indoor patients may be taken care of, maintaining high-level safety measures. The medical team who will be looking after the existing indoor patients may not be allowed to move out of the hospital. Arrangement for their stay within the hospital may be done by concern hospital management.

3. No ENTRY or EXIT within the establishment may be allowed till next 72 hours on receipt of this letter.

4. Lists of all the contacts of Dr. Orina Raha (Doctors, Nurse, Ayayas, Pharmacists, Ward Boy or Girl, OT Assistant, Sweeper, Managerial Staffs, Receptionist or any other staffs) may be sent to this office by today itself.

5. All the contacts of Dr. Drina Raha may be kept for 14 days strict home quarantine.

6. Sanitization of entire establishment may be carried out as per Government guidelines.
