Senior Doctor at Kalain Community Health Centre S Bhowmik has tested COVID positive. Kalain CHC is a busy health care centre where residents of nearby areas visit for treatment. The administration is worried about the spread of the virus in the CHC. Along with Doctor Bhowmik, 59-year-old Smriti Rekha Paul has also tested positive. She too is from the Kalain CHC.
Contact tracing continued in Silchar and Ramanuj Gupta Junior College’s Tomoshree Deb (25) who was in home quarantine has been diagnosed carrying the virus.

The administration had to face a lot of issues while transferring the baby boy to Silchar Medical College and Hospital. The officials from the administration informed that the father of the baby boy did not want to board the ambulance and it took them more than an hour to convince.
Air passenger from Bangalore, Nutanpatty’s Pratik Tarafdar (25) who was staying at a hotel in Silchar tested positive taking the day’s total from the district to 13.
