
22 new COVID positive cases in Cachar; BSF, Army, infection found in a dead body
Officials in the Cachar District Health Department informed that 22 individuals tested COVID positive on July 12.
Contact tracing continued and Rajagaon’s Purnima Singha (80), Dholcherra BSF Camp’s Sandeep Kumar San (29), Amikapatty’s Arunabha Bhattacharjee (47), Kanakpur Part I’s Makend Ahmed Laskar (52), Saira Begum (45) and Sajida Begum (20), Rajghat Bagha Bazar’s Masuma Akter Laskar (8) tested positive.
Silchar Medical College and Hospital confirmed that Narsingpur Part II’s Shantibala Nath (85), who died on July 10, was carrying the infection. With this, she becomes the first patient in Cachar to die with the infection.
Air passenger from Chandigarh, placed under quarantine in Masimpur Military Camp in Silchar, Dinesh Kumar (49) tested positive. From Bangalore, Amraghat’s Nazir Hussain Laskar (26) and Ela Hussain Laskar (26), Mohan Khal Sonai’s Nur Islam Laskar (26) also tested positive.
Kalain’s Biman Ch Das (26) who has traveled from Pune has tested positive for COVID 19.
Santosh Yadav (34) from Masimpur Camp developed Influenza-like illness and he was immediately tested, today, his reports disclosed he is carrying the infection.
Dholcherra’s Camp’s Ashok Choudhury (52), RP Shukla (54), Narendra Kumar (53), Surendra Paul (55), Ashok Kumar (53), Kishore Kumar (52), CP Shukla (54), Darshan Singh (53) have all tested positive. Their samples were collected under the Assam Government’s Targeted Surveillance Programme.
