Assam Rifles Jawan dies due to COVID in Cachar; Death Audit Board declared it as a COVID death

Breaking news coming in from the district administration. 46-year-old, S K Wagle, a Jawan of Assam Rifles has succumbed to the COVID 19 infection.

The official spokesperson from the district administration informed that “Sri. S. K. Wagle, 46, M, a jawan of Assam Rifles was admitted to Silchar Medical College and Hospital around 11.40 PM yesterday.”

The spokesperson added, “He was tested COVID POSITIVE by Rapid Antigen Test. He died within an hour.” S K Wagle was referred to Silchar Medical College and Hospital after he had symptoms of Influenza-Like Illnesses

S K Wagle becomes the fourth patient in Cachar to die with coronavirus infection in the body. Shantibala Nath from Narshingpur, Janiganj’s Narayan Mitra, and Shivalik Park’s Mala Dutta Mazumdar are the other three. However, the Death Audit Board of Assam, after auditing the deaths declared that though they were COVID positive, Nath, Mitra and Mala Dutta Mazumdar died due to other medical complications and not COVID.

However, in the case of SK Wagle, the administration informed that “His case was referred to the Death Audit Board and subsequently declared as COVID DEATH. He will be cremated by the District Administration as per COVID Protocol.”
