Cachar reports 93 COVID positive cases; many from Janiganj, BSF, Assam Rifles Jawan
Cachar Administration has informed that 93 COVID positive cases have been reported so far in the district. This is the highest one-day spike reported in Cachar.
SK Wagle, 46-year-old Jawan of Assam Rifles has succumbed to COVID19. He was rushed to Silchar Medical College and Hospital last night and the rapid test showed he is positive for COVID19. Within the span of an hour he succumbed. The death audit board of Assam has declared it to be a COVID death.
The others who tested positive as per rapid test reports are, Shiv Colony Silchar’s Rathindra Choudhury (58), Rabindra Paul (76) from Tarapur, Central Road’s Bimal Paul (78), Rinthu Paul (32) of Tarapur, Harinagar’s Chaitali Das (34).
Berenga Part 1’s Abdul Karim Laskar (24), Premtala’s Gautam Adhikari (60), Borjalenga’s Sujoy Hazam (42) had influenza-like illness and when tested they found carrying the virus.
Contact Tracing continued in Cachar and a significant number of people from Janiganj area tested COVID positive. They are Sabitri Bose (61), Soumajit Mitra (4), Bibhu Acharjee (43), Tapash Dey (28), Mumpi Acharjee (42), Sindhu Rani Mitra (91), Priyanka Roy Mitra (32), Shankar Bose (35), Sandhya Das (52), Sanchita Paul (40), Anita Paul (60), Bhanu Bhushan Roy (67), Tamashi Mitra (50), Jui Paul (28), Mukta Kanu (32), Raj Mohan Rabidas (26), Purnima Paul (60), Kushik Das (15), Lucky Das (19).
Dholcherra BSF’s Shashi Kumar (31), NC Saha (51), Satish Kumar (30), Mushtak Ahmed (41), Prakash Ray (38), Jahal Ahmed (46), Sandeep Kumar (30), Mohan Singh (45), Ramesh Lal (47). Chauhan Sankar (31), S K Biswas (48), Mukesh Babu (44), Amren Chandra Roy (34), SS Mondal (39), Arvind Kumar (36), Utpal Sarkar (37), Ajit Kumar Singh (29) have also tested positive.
The administration continued testing people under the Assam Targeted Surveillance Programme and Rongpur Gangapara’s Jagannath Dutta (30) tested positive.
Today a few officials from the Central Jail in Silchar also tested positive and that included a prisoner – Ataur Rahman (36) (name changed). Apart from the prisoner, Pranjit Deb Choudhury (45), Shankar Suklabaidya (35) and Abhishek Sarkar (40) associated with the Central Jail tested positive for COVID19.
Few COVID positive cases emerged from the medical college too. Nascent Hostal, Silchar Medical College and Hospital’s Dr Sneha Roy (29) and Dr. Juri Taye (26) was found carrying the infection. Associated with SMCH’s ENT department, Kanakpur resident, Shekhar Chandra Das (49) and SMCH’s Dr. Nusrat Azim (27) tested Positive.
The passenger’s who tested positive for COVID19 are: from Bangalore, Sonais’s Abul Laskar (41), Ehthesamul Islam Laskar (23), Bilpar’s Minar Hussain Laskar (20) from Hyderabad, Pailapool’s Mantu Lal Dusad (23), Hawaithang’s Shamshuddin Laskar (28) from West Bengal, Pailapool’s Bijoy Kr Rai (43), Ithkhola’s SK Siraj (23), Bunnal Sheikh (20), from Uttar Pradesh, Borjurai’s Mijabur Rahman (23).
