OC Silchar Sadar, Dr. of Civil Hospital, an 8-day-old baby boy among 27 COVID positive cases in Cachar today
So far on Saturday, 27 individuals from Cachar district have tested positive for COVID19. Media expert, district health department informed that the number could rise further as the testing is in process.
Today morning, the OC of Silchar Sadar Police Station, Ditumoni Goswami tested positive for the virus. He went to SMCH himself and got tested. After his rapid antigen test results turned positive he got himself admitted at the COVID block of the hospital.
Dr.Arpita Deb of SM Dev Civil Hospital also tested positive. There were other health workers on the list too. Topkhana’s Inamuddin Laskar (39), Kaptanpur part 18, RK Mala Sana (21) who is now in the nursing Hostel at SMCH tested positive. Valley Hospital’s, Tajammul Ali Laskar (65) was also on the list. As a protocol, SMCH is conducting preoperative screening and Swamiji Road, Silchar’s Rana Ch. Deb (49) tested positive for the virus before his surgery.
After a six-day-old yesterday, today an eight-day-old newborn baby boy tested positive for COVID19. His mother Ruma Rikiason, a resident of Gobinda Gupa, Cachar is also admitted at the COVID block.
Under the Assam, targetted surveillance programme, Janiganj’s Gouri Das (55), Deepali Das (38) were found carrying the virus. Their sample was collected on July 21, 2020.
Contact tracing continued in Cachar and Atal Basti’s Tapash Chanda (37), Gumrah’s Akhamul Haque Laskar (22) Assam Rifles Cachar’s Sukram (42), Sarenjit Singh (56) AK Thakur (56), Kishori Singh (57), Mahavir Urang (30), Govind Singh (56) tested positive for COVID19.
A staff in Assam University department of law, Berenga part II’s, Abul Kalam Choudhury (38) had a fever and today his reports stated positive COVID positive.
