Cardiologist PC Sharma and his family members recover from COVID19 after home treatment

On July 22, renowned cardiologist in Silchar Dr. PC Sarma had tested positive for COVID19. The same day his wife was also diagnosed as infected by the virus. Later, three children also found carrying the infection. As per the guideline of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Assam, Dr. Sharma had applied for home treatment.

Sharma, resident of a multistorey apartment in Meherpur was allowed home treatment after the NOC from the society. Today, he has informed that the whole family has tested negative for the virus and they have recovered.

“This can happen to anybody and has a mortality rate that is lower than influenza. However, the condition deteriorates suddenly and that is why attention and treatment are necessary,” said Sharma.

He added that one wouldn’t know if the condition might deteriorate and that is why mustn’t take it casually.

It is worth mentioning here that Dr. PC Sharma and his family were the first COVID positive patients to be treated at home in Cachar. Their recovery comes as an encouragement for the home quarantine applicants.
