Deputy Speaker Aminul Haque Laskar tests negative, to be discharged today
Deputy Speaker and Sonai MLA Aminul Haque Laskar have tested negative for COVID19 yesterday, and today, he will be discharged from Silchar Medical College and Hospital. Laskar was the first Coronavirus patient to undergo plasma therapy in Barak Valley.
“Don’t know if it is for the plasma therapy, I have recovered well and feeling all right,” said Laskar while speaking to Barak Bulletin.
He appealed to the general public to cooperate with the administration and take part in the rapid test drive. “There is nothing to fear. Coronavirus can be defeated if the test is done on time. Maximum patients are recovering within 10 days, what is needed is timely detection and isolation. My appeal to the mass is to get tested as that would not only save them but also restrict the spread of the virus in community and especially to the vulnerable age groups,” said Laskar.
He lauded the medical staff at SMCH. “With the limited resources at their disposal, they are doing a fantastic job. It is because of their hard work we have such high recovery and low mortality rate. The PG doctors, nurses, and other staff have taken good care of me throughout the course of the treatment,” Laskar added.
