Cachar SP Bhanwar Lal Meena tests positive for COVID19; "Asymptomatic and doing fine," he says
Superintendent of Cachar Police, Bhanwar Lal Meena has tested positive for COVID19. Sources in the SP Office informed that Meena had got himself tested as a routine exercise.
More than 80 officials from Cachar Police have already tested positive for the virus and many of them have already recovered. As per ADGP Law and Order – Assam, till August 24, 2020, “3394 personnel have tested positive. 2863 have recovered in Assam.” He wrote on Twitter, “Unfortunately, we’ve lost Thirteen colleagues to date.”
On August 3, 2020, the virus first penetrated in SP Cachar’s office for the first time. Bishnupada Das (49), K Pratap Singh (38), Masum Ahmed Barbhuiya (35), Amit Choudhury (34), Shikha Senapati (49), Durgasekhar Choudhury (51) had tested positive early August. All of them are employed in SP Office Silchar. Since then many recovered and got infected too.
Speaking with Barak Bulletin, Cachar SP said, “He is asymptomatic and doing fine.”
