Silchar youth launches "Zestar" an app that provides daily labour, drivers and other solutions

If you have a problem, ‘Zestar’ has a solution. A group of young entrepreneurs has forayed into the online service sector to make a local Urban Company like entity.

Zestar, co-founder and Marketing Head Adarsh Sinha describes as the “solution companion”, has been developed locally.

“While it is like Urban Company, we provide solutions that go beyond what Urban Company (earlier known as Urban Clap) does,” adds Sinha.

Through Zestar, one can even book a gardener to chop off the jungle at their courtyard. The app also provides services like repairing electronic appliances, drivers on a daily basis, laundry services like dry cleaning, ironing and wet cleaning.

“You have a car, but you only use it occasionally. You don’t need to keep a driver on a monthly salary, instead, using Zestar you can book the driver for a day or two and only pay for those many days,” informs Sinha.

The team started ideating in January and the app was launched on July 3, 2020. “So far we have got very positive feedback from both customers and our partners. We only associate with trained professionals and there is no hidden cost. At this stage we are providing services in Silchar and going forward would like to expand to other districts too,” informs Sinha.

He explains that the usage of Zestar app is very simple. “You just need to select the service you want to avail, take it to the cart and then checkout. Our turn around time is approximately 24 hours and the trained officials will reach out to the doorstep to provide the service,” Sinha adds.

One can book a barber and get a haircut at doorsteps. Considering that the world is in a pandemic, people are hesitant stepping out and standing in queues which is why Sinha feels a service like Zestar is the need of the hour. “Apart from the salon services like haircut and hair die, repairing work is also essential. Imagine your refrigerator just stopped working. To take it to a service centre you will need to let three people enter, carry it and then wait for a week. Using Zestar, one can get the engineer repair the appliance at home,” shares Sinha.

He clarifies that all the partners providing services have been explained about the pandemic and they strictly follow the norms.

While this app can help customers avail services at home, Sinha feels it is a great opportunity for skilled individuals to make money by offering the service.

The Prime Minister of India had appealed to his fellow countrymen to be vocal for local and at the same time encouraged local businesses to grow and create employment opportunities. “Zestar is 100% made in India and has been launched keeping the local market in mind,” concludes Sinha.
