September 25 COVID Update: Cases rising again in Cachar, Hailakandi; no death in SMCH
The number of COVID positive cases is back rising. While it was 73 yesterday, today it grew to 86. The day before yesterday, the number of COVID cases was 47. This indicates that the trend of COVID Positive cases in Cachar is rising again.
Today, the administration has informed that 64 individuals have tested positive on Rapid Antigen Test Kit and 22 on RT-PCR taking the day’s total to 86.
Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College and Hospital informed that five patients took admission to the COVID wards of the hospital while 13 got discharged. Currently, there are 118 patients at the COVID wards and 16 in ICU and two under ventilation. “22 are considered to be critical and 30 are on oxygen support,” added Dr. Gupta.
He informed that no patients died in the COVID wards of Silchar Medical College and Hospital in the last 24 hours.
15 fresh COVID-19 positive cases have been reported in Hailakandi on Friday, taking the district’s total tally to 2,956. Yesterday, only eight individuals had tested positive, so, like Cachar, the number of cases is increasing in Hailakandi too.
Health authorities have disclosed that of the 15 positive cases, 14 have been detected under the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT). Altogether 1,155 swab samples were taken on Friday in Hailakandi.
In Karimganj district, 21 individuals tested positive for COVID 19 on Friday while 12 got discharged from the various hospitals. 783 samples were tested using the Rapid Antigen Test kit in Karimganj.
