Sept 26 COVID Update: 89 positive in Cachar, 23 Hailakandi, Karimganj 7

Cachar administration informed that 89 individuals tested positive for COVID19 in the district on Saturday. Of them, 65 tested positive after undergoing tests through Rapid Antigen Test Kit.

Vice-principal of Silchar Medical College and Hospital, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta informed that 11 patients took admission to the COVID wards in SMCH while six got discharged. Currently, there are 112 patients and 16 in ICU.

“Two patients are under ventilation and 21 on oxygen support. 22 patients are considered to be in critical condition. In the last 24 hours, no patients died in the COVID wards of Silchar Medical College and Hospital,” informed Dr. Bhaskar Gupta.

23 fresh COVID-19 positive cases have been reported in Hailakandi on Saturday, taking the district’s tally to 2,979.

Health authorities in Hailakandi disclosed that of the 23 positive cases, 19 have been detected under the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT). Altogether 1,568 swab samples were taken on Saturday.

In Karimganj district, the number of COVID positive cases remains in single digit. On Saturday, seven individuals tested positive for COVID19 in the district while nine were discharged after recovery.
