"Shycocan won't cure COVID positive patients it won't detect either," clarifies Ramakrishna Mission Silchar
There is one scary device that the monks in Ramakrishna Mission have installed which will detect Coronavirus. This is what people in Silchar have started to believe. There is another set of people, who are excited to visit Ramakrishna Mission during Durga Puja as they believe the devices installed in the Mission premises will kill the virus and make them immune to it.
Both perceptions are wrong and people are simply misinformed by rumours says Gandhishanandaji Maharaj of Ramakrishna Mission Silchar. “Shycocan won’t cure COVID positive patients it won’t detect either,” he asserts.
Under the instruction of Belur Math, the Silchar Ramakrishna Mission management has decided to install Shycocan machines in Mission premises. The medical device has been approved by many international markets like the US and Europe. Since the time the news broke that Ramakrishna Mission is installing this device, several myths took over people’s minds.
Brainchild of Bangalore based Dr. Rajah Vijay Kumar, Shycocan is a medical device. This made in India device as explained by Dr. Kumar adopts principles of Old Physics. “When a superalloy (manufactured by Organisation De Scalene) is excited, it emits a certain amount of photons. These photons or packets of energy bounce off various surfaces to eject electrons which have a specific level of charge.”
In an interview with Deccan Chronicle, Dr. Kumar explained, “On the Covid-19 front, the S-proteins or spike proteins in the coronavirus attach on to the host cell, which is present in human and animal cells as the negative membrane potential and holds a negative charge in the cell. The electrons ejected from the machine actively seek the negative charge of the virus, which in turn disable the spike protein of the coronavirus.”
Dr. Kumar added, “The Shycocan adopts an all-natural process to wipe out the coronavirus S-protein. It is not a cure for coronavirus but a medical device. A device that attenuates a certain particle, in this case, the virus. The device can contain the spread of the virus in a closed enclosure and it is airborne in such spaces.”
Gandhishanandaji Maharaj appealed to the people of Barak Valley to not believe in myths. “The reason why Belur Math instructed us to install these machines is to ensure that we are not leaving any stones unturned in order to make the environment safe. Unknowingly, many people carry the virus with them on their shirts and clothes in the form of droplets, this machine plays a critical role in curbing the spread of infection in a closed environment. By no means this a cure or a medical alternative to the treatment,” said Gandhishanandaji Maharaj.
The head of Ramakrishna Mission Silchar has rolled out a set of initiatives keeping the pandemic in mind. Last year, Silchar Mission had 14,000 people offering Pushpanjali every day and 24,000 devotees paying a visit on a daily basis. “This year we are expecting it to be more,” says Gandhishanandaji Maharaj.
Puja is knocking at the door and the State is yet to issue a Standard Operating Procedure that must be followed during the four-day festival. One recently issued SOP by the Cachar administration has confused the people of Barak Valley. However, the SOP issued by the Cachar administration has been shelved after it received immense criticism.
To have less crowded pandals, conventional wisdom is to allow more number of Pujas. But, the administration said only concrete buildings can host Pujas and temporary Pujas Pandals won’t be allowed. Similarly, instead of allowing the pandals to remain open for more number of hours and days, the Cachar administration instructed Puja Committees to pull shutters down on or before 10 pm.
“We have decided that we will open the Mission for devotees at 6:00 am and keep it open till the administration allows us to,” said Gandhishanandaji Maharaj. He added, “Apart from that we have arranged the queues in a manner that the devotees will always be on the move. This will help us in avoiding the congregation inside the premises.”
This year, Ramakrishna Mission will not distribute ‘Khichudi Prasad’ and instead handover packets to the devotees. There will be sanitisers in several junctions inside the Mission premises and one of the major attractions of Ramakrishna Mission in 2020’s Sharod Utsav will be the giant bookstore. The field near the pond will be used to setup bookstalls.
The Mission management has also reserved a few rooms in Silchar Collegiate School. The devotees will have to remove their shoes in counters in Collegiate school. There will be two waiting rooms in the School where devotees can sit and take some rest.
“We are in a pandemic and anybody can test positive for COVID19 anywhere. We have done the arrangements that we thought are necessary to ensure safety. My appeal to the devotees, you can all visit Ramakrishna Mission without fear and it very unlikely that you will get infected here. Rest, it’s all God’s will,” concluded Gandhishanandaji Maharaj.
