Railway board approves Silchar - Guwahati superfast train; "date is yet to be announced," NF Railway

To clear the festive rush, the Ministry of Railways has approved 196 pairs (392 trains) of “Festival Special” services over Indian Railways to be operated from October 20, 2020, to November 30, 2020.

“The fare for these Festival Special services shall be that applicable for special trains. Zonal Railways will notify their schedule well in advance,” informed the Railways through Press Information Bureau.

Silchar – Guwahati tri-weekly superfast train has secured an approval from the Railway Board alongside 195 other pairs in the list. The chief public relations officer, Subhanan Chanda of NF Railways informed that the date of running is yet to be decided.

“It is the initial stage, the Railway board has approved the trains and now the zones will plan,” said Chanda while speaking with Barak Bulletin.

He added, “After the zones chalk out a plan, accordingly, the date from which the Silchar – Guwahati train will be announced.”
