
Harina PHC in Cachar gets recognised by Ayush Ministry; Dr. Ijaz Ahmed Laskar gets best doctor
Another achievement for Cachar Health Department. A Primary Health Centre under the Cachar district has been awarded as the best PHC in Assam by the Union Aayush Ministry.
Located under Sonai Legislative Assembly Constituency, Harina Primary Healthcare Centre, it’s doctor and healthcare workers got recognised in the presence of union health minister Dr Harsh Vardhan. In the event, Primary Health Centre, Upper Primary Health Centre and Subsidiary Health Centre of Assam were rewarded by the Ministry.
Harina Primary Health Centre got the award of best PHC in Assam. Dr. Mohammed Ijaz Ahmed Laskar of the PHC got the best doctor award too. ASHA workers associated with the hospital and other Healthcare workers got awarded under different categories.
“There are 11 sub-centres under Harina Primary Healthcare Centre. All kinds of primary treatments including OPD is provided in the hospitals. Maybe that is the reason why Harina Primary Health Centre got recognised as the best PHC in Assam,” said Dr. Laskar.
He added, “The workers do their best to ensure essential treatment is affordable. ASHA workers assist us in doing so. We do our best to ensure that no patient is deprived of primary treatment.”
Mohammed Izaj Ahmed Laskar, “We always attend patients and if we diagnose that the patient cannot be treated here, we arrange an ambulance for them to be transferred to Silchar Medical College and Hospital.”
Apart from medical treatment, hospital management and healthcare workers also work in generating awareness. Doctor Laskar said that the women in the locality suffer from Anemia due to malnutrition and the hospital authority has been working towards generating awareness and solve the issue.
The recognition has encouraged Dr. Laskar and the team at the hospital. “Due to this recognition, people will now have more trust in this hospital and hopefully they will come forward for treatment,” said Laskar.
ANM Ayesha Begum, Poduna Begum and Kalyani Das were among the ANM nurses who got rewarded as the best ANM in the state. Lab technician Rafique Uddin also got recognised for his contribution. ASHA workers were also among the team that got the best AB-HWC title. ASHA supervisor, Bharati Sarkar, ASHA worker Jiturani Das, Amina Begum, Chinubala Das, Rabiya Begum, Sofatun Nessa and ASHA helper Sishu Ranjan Nath were also recognised.
