Silchar to get colder at night; here is the weather alert from IMD
A chilly wave has swept Barak Valley on Sunday as it recorded the coldest morning of the season so far at 9.5 degrees celsius according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
Silchar station of Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) registered the minimum temperature on Sunday morning showing a deduction of -1.6 degrees celsius from the normal.
The maximum temperature recorded on Sunday was 24.9°C, -1°C less from the normal.
The cold wave has not only engulfed the Barak Valley region rather the entire state as Guwahati also registered the lowest temperature of 10.8 degrees on Sunday for this season.

According to the Indian Meteorological department, the maximum and minimum temperatures will hover around 23°C & 10°C respectively. However, fog or mist would continue to occur in early morning.
“Weather is most likely to remain dry over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura. Fall in night temperature by 2 to 4°C during next 3 days. Shallow to moderate fog very likely to occur at isolated pockets over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura” said the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in a press release.
