Kalain Resident Accused of Running Obscene Racket, Couple Arrested by Police
Kalain witnessed a huge controversy surrounding alleged involvement of a couple indulged in anti-social & illicit obscene activities. The incident happened in the Brahmangram region under the Kalain Police patrol post. The complaint put forward by the Katigorah Yuva Samaj Ekta Mancha also alleges that the said business of obscene activities has been going on for quite some time.
On Wednesday night, the couple was caught from the house of the accused person where alleged activities were taking place and were handed over to the Kalain police by some of Ekta Mancha members. An official FIR has been filed regarding this matter at the Kalain Police by Katigorah Yuva Samaj Ekta Mancha Joint Secretary Azhad Hussain Barbhuiya.
In the FIR, he mentioned that Abdul Qayyum of Kalain Brahmangram and his wife have been carrying out the obscene racket and anti-social activities in their residence for a long time, according to their assumption. That particular night, locals saw a suspicious couple entering Abdul Qayyum’s house. When asked about their identities, they could not answer properly, which raised further suspicions. The locals then proceeded to inform the Kalain police regarding the matter. On being informed, in-charge Samarjit Roy and his team brought Abdul Qayyum and his wife to the police patrol post.
The youth was identified as Monaf Ali, son of Arish Ali of Mugalipur in Badarpur. The young woman is also alleged to be married. Although Monaf introduced the woman as his sister, inconsistency was observed in his explanation. Katara Youth Society Ekta Manch officials further mentioned in the FIR that the apprehended couple may be involved in the business with Abdul Qayyum and his wife.
Kalain police produced the arrested couple and Abdul Qayyum’s wife in Silchar court on Thursday. Due to that incident, there has been a lot of uproar and agitation seen in the whole Kalain area. When Katigorah OC Nayanmoni Singha was asked about this incident, all he had to say is that ‘a case has been filed and the investigation is going on’. Members of the Katigorah Yuba Samaj Ekta Mancha have urged the locals to come forward to stop such obscene anti-social activities in the area.
