Indigo delays launch of Silchar - Bangalore flight service; To start from March 2

The airports authority on Monday announced the revised winter schedule of flights at Silchar airport, to include new Indigo airlines flight operating between Silchar and Bengaluru.

The date of commencement of the flight was announced to be from 21st Feb by the airports authority but the Indigo airlines has now postponed the date to 2nd March.

The airline has assigned its A320 aircraft for the route and will operate on 2nd, 4th and 7th days of a week. The aircraft will arrive at Silchar airport at 11:35 hrs and will depart back at 12:15 hrs.

Apart from this route, the Indigo airlines will also commence flight in Bengaluru Dibrugarh sector, which will operate 4 days a week.

In its bid to strengthen regional connectivity, IndiGo, India’s leading carrier, has launched 22 new flights connecting key regional cities in India, w.e.f. March 28, 2021. IndiGo will operate new flights between Agartala – Aizawl under RCS scheme and exclusive flights between Bhubaneswar-Patna, Jaipur-Vadodara, Chennai-Vadodara, Bengaluru-Shirdi, Patna-Kochi, and Rajahmundry-Tirupati. IndiGo will be also be commencing flights between Kolkata-Gaya, CochinTrivandrum, Jaipur-Surat, Chennai-Surat.

IndiGo is amongst the fastest growing low-cost carriers in the world. With its fleet of 283 aircraft as of 31st December 2020, the airline is operating over 1100 daily flights and connecting 64 domestic destinations and 6 international destinations.
