PM Modi's Assam Election Campaign Tour to Start from March 18; Karimganj to Host the First Public Event
In order to ramp up campaigning for the upcoming Vidhan Sabha election, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is coming to Barak Valley to campaign for the BJP.
This year’s election event of the Prime Minister will be held at either Bhatgram or Srigouri in North Karimganj of the Karimganj district. Silchar MP Rajdeep Roy shared this with reporters today.
Rajdeep Roy, who visited the Bhatgram by-pass area in North Karimganj, said, “There are many types of protocols at the meeting place – helipads, barricades, separate entrances and exits for those who come to the meeting, security, transportation facilities. Events will be held where these protocols are totally ‘fulfilled’. One of these two places, Bhatgram or Srigouri in North Karimganj, will be decided as the event venue by tomorrow.” The MP further said that a team has already arrived from Delhi to look into the matter and another team will arrive on Thursday.
Expressing in an air of happiness, the MP said that a special achievement of Karimganj district is that the Prime Minister is starting the Assam election meetings from Karimganj only. This time a lot of things have started from Karimganj. BJP’s state party working conference has been held in Karimganj, Prishtha Pramukh conference was also started from Karimganj to all over Assam.
Expecting a huge crowd at the PM’s public meeting, Rajdeep Roy said it is expected that there would be 3.5 lakh workers and supporters.
