Cachar resident dies after slipping from Silchar - Guwahati train in New Haflong
At around 12:30 pm yesterday, a person named Surman Ali Uddin, a passenger in Silchar – Guwahati tried to get down from the moving train at New Haflong Station. The 35-year-old is no more.
“The on duty RPF staff of NHLG noticed one unknown person trying to get down from the train in the running motion but suddenly he fell down between the train and platform i,e nearby the track for which he sustained serious head injury with bruises on the face,” informed the sources at National Frontier Railways.
Immediately matter was informed to on duty T/Guard and Station Master NHLG. GRP/NHLG attended at the spot and remove the body where Railway medical team/NHLG also attended.
“Further the injured person was taken away to Civil Hospital, Haflong at about 13.15 hrs by GRP/NHLG. The injured person is identified as Surrnan Ali (M-20), 5/0 Sham Uddin, Vill-Bihara Pt IV, PO+PS-Bihara, Dist-Cachar (Assam) but no any Railway/Journey ticket found in his possession on being checked by GRP/NHLG. Due to the incident T/No. 05616 UP detained at NHLG from 11.27 hrs to 12.15 hrs i,e 48 minutes. In this regard, a memo was issued by Station Master/NHLG,” stated an official statement issued by the NFR.
