At the vaccination drive, it is required to bring proof of identity like name, age, etc. A special vaccination drive for rural areas will be held soon, said the Deputy Commissioner Keerti Jalli. She said, “Under the Aarogya Silchar campaign, at the instruction of our Chief Minister, we are putting vaccination sites at each of the 28 wards of the Silchar Municipality area. Our CM thinks that population density is more in the urban areas than the rural areas and also deaths due to Covid is also higher here. Hence, if we can vaccinate the urban areas and stop this virus, we can do that in the rural areas as well. So I’m requesting the people of Silchar to come out and and get inoculated by the vaccine at the sites designated in their respective wards. The drive will go on for 1 week, starting from 7 am to 2 pm everyday on a first come first serve basis, prior to availability of vaccine stock. So kindly visit your respective vaccination sites and even if you end up don’t getting your shot that day, you can come again the next day to get yourself inoculated.”
The Deputy Commissioner also said that those who are more used to getting exposed to different people every day like vendors, businessmen, merchants, pharmacists, delivery men, labourers should avail this opportunity to get themselves vaccinated as they run the risk of getting infected the most. She also requested people to maintain decorum and follow due Covid protocols at the vaccination sites while waiting to get inoculated, otherwise the authority will be bound to remove anybody from the site violating these protocols.
