Green corridor today in Silchar as a patient to be airlifted; Bad weather delaying process
Manjur Ahmed Laskar, a resident of Hawaithang in Dholai is admitted to Nightangle Hospital in Meherpur. His medical condition is critical and that is why the family has decided to airlift him out of Silchar for better treatment.
Regarding this, the chief executive officer of District Disaster Management Authority has written to the superintendent of Police, Cachar urging him to facilitate a Green Corridor for the patient to smoothly drive to the Kumbirgram Airport. The patient was scheduled to be airlifted today at 10:00 am. However, airport sources informed that due to the bad weather, the Air Ambulance’s landing got delayed.
In the letter to SP, Cachar Police, CEO, DDMA wrote, “I am to inform you that Mr. Manjur Ahmed Laskar residence of HAWAlTHANG, Dholai, Cachar is admitted in Nightingale Nursing Home, Meherpur Silchar, and his condition is serious at present. Family members have arranged everything for airlifting to the patient by tomorrow on 05/06/2021 at 10:00 am.”
Adding, “In this connection, I would like to request you to arrange “Green Corridor” for transportation of the patient from Nightingale Nursing Home, Silchar to Kumbhirgram Airport tomorrow i.e. on 05/06/2021 at 09:30 am. This is favour of your kind information and necessary action.”
The Police informed that they are on standby to execute the green corridor and the moment they get a green signal from the airport, they will make the roads empty and escort the ambulance.
