194 positive in Cachar district on June 18; 3 dead at the SMCH; Positivity rate drops to 1%
According to the medical bulletin of the Silchar Medical College and Hospital, as of June 18, there are 135 active Corona cases in the hospital. 84 patients are in the ICU ward and 51 are in the Covid ward. 15 patients are in ventilation support whereas, 112 patients are in oxygen support.
In the past 24 hours ending at 5:00 pm on June 18, 18 Covid patients were admitted to the Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) and 4 patients were discharged from it. 2 patients have been given home isolation and 3 have been admitted to the Covid care centre. Also, 3 patients have died in the same period with Covid in the Silchar Medical College & Hospital.
Munni Lal Been, aged 70, of the Dullabchhera area of Karimganj district was admitted to the Silchar Medical College & Hospital on June 17 due to Covid. She died on the same day at 8:50 pm due to Covid.
Hashma Khanum Laskar, aged 55, of the Rongpur area of the Cachar district, was admitted to the Silchar Medical College & Hospital on June 14 and died on June 18 at 12:15 am due to Covid. Mashook Ahmed, aged 75, of Ward no. 2 of Karimganj was admitted to the Silchar Medical College & Hospital on June 14 and died on June 18 at 6 am due to Covid.
In the Cachar district, a total of 194 people have tested Covid positive on June 18. Out of 12,726 RAT done on June 18, 128 have tested positive. 66 have tested positive on the RT-PCR test. As the GP-wise vaccination drive is going on, the number of tests done have increased manifold. The random sample testing in a large number has brought the positivity on RAT down to 1%.
In Karimganj district, out of 4,143 samples, 116 tested positive. There are currently, 1,069 active cases in the district. In Hailakandi, 46 individuals tested positive after 3,819 tests. The district has 646 active cases
