June 23 COVID Update: 4 declared dead in SMCH, 129 positive in Cachar at 0.45% positivity rate
The Vice-principal of the Silchar Medical College & Hospital, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta in a medical bulletin said that as of June 23 till 5 pm, there are 128 active Covid cases in the hospital. 73 patients are in the ICU and 55 are admitted in the Covid ward. 11 Covid patients are under ventilation support and 92 are under oxygen support.
In the Karimganj district, on June 23, out of 5,131 swabs collected, 67 have tested Covid positive. 91 Covid patients have been discharged from the hospital and the currently active cases in the district stand at 952.
In the Hailakandi district, on June 23 till 6 pm, 12 people have tested Covid positive with 11 on RAT and one on RT-PCR test. On the same day, 52 Covid patients have been discharged from hospitals, thereby making the active Covid tally in district 425.
In Cachar district, on June 23, 129 people have tested positive for Covid. 97 of them tested positive on RAT whereas 32 tested positive on the RT-PCR test. The total number of active Covid cases in the district stands at 1,629.
In the past 24 hours, 18 Covid patients have been admitted to the Silchar Medical College & Hospital. No Covid patient has been discharged in the same period and 4 people have died in the hospital due to Covid. Akhil Suklabaidya, aged 58, from the Kamalpur area of the Karimganj district, was admitted to the Silchar Medical College & Hospital on June 18 and died on June 22 at 6:05 pm due to Covid.
Sumanta Roy, aged 39, from the Saratpally area of Silchar, was admitted to the Silchar Medical College & Hospital on June 18 and died on June 22 at 10:45 pm due to Covid. Pushpa Rani Saha, aged 65, from the Das Colony area of Silchar, was admitted to the Silchar Medical College & Hospital on June 17 and died on June 23 at 12:25 am due to Covid. Sunidhi Acharjee, aged 77, from the Bazarghat area was admitted to the Silchar Medical College & Hospital on June 23 and was discovered to be dead during admission due to Covid.
