Rajdeep Roy becomes Vice President of Assam BJP, Kanad Purkayastha secretary; Aminul sidelined in team Kalita
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Assam Pradesh Committee has today announced the names of its new office bearers. From Barak Valley, four representatives have made it to the core committee, with 3 from Cachar and one from Karimganj district.
Silchar MP Dr Rajdeep Roy, who was the General Secretary has been elevated to Vice-president of the BJP Assam Pradesh Committee. Kanad Purkayastha, son of former MP and Union Minister Kabindra Purkayastha, has been roped in as the Secretary of the Assam Pradesh Committee from Cachar.
Former MLA from Lakhipur Rajdeep Goala who was snubbed by the party during assembly elections has been appointed as one of the spokespersons of the committee and Moon Swarnakar from Karimganj as the SC Morcha President of the committee.
MP Rajdeep Roy expressed his feelings regarding the development on Twitter. He wrote, “Thank @Bhabesh_KalitaR ji and all seniors for entrusting me the responsibility of State Vice President of @assambjp. Will do my best for the @BJP4India in all sphere. @PhanindranathS3 @himantabiswa @blsanthosh @JPNadda”
CM Himanta Biswa Sarma also took to Twitter to congratulate the newly elected office bearers of the BJP Assam Pradesh Committee, saying, “Congratulations to the newly-elected office bearers of @BJP4Assam With your hard work & dedication, I’m sure our party will scale newer heights under leadership & guidance of Adarniya Adhyaksh Ji @JPNadda & state president @Bhabesh_KalitaR I hope your service will benefit Assam.”
Bhabesh Kalita is the president of Bharatiya Janata Party’s Assam Pradesh Committee and he signed the list declared today.
