59-year old woman found dead in her home in Katigorah; 1 detained in this connection

In a mysterious case of homicide, an elderly woman was found dead in her house in Cachar district’s Katigorah. The incident happened in the Koroikandy village in Katigorah when one of the neighbours discovered the dead body of the 59-year old woman lying inside her house on Monday. Discovering her body in a bloody state, the police was immediately informed who rushed to the scene. The woman had been living alone in her house for quite a while as her only son lives in Nagaland due to his work there. In this connection, a suspect has also been detained by the Cachar police.

The incident was first reported on Monday by one of the locals of the village in Katigorah when he discovered the unconscious body of the woman lying inside her home in a bloody state. As soon as the word got spread out and police arrived at the scene, it was already crowded by a group of villagers from the vicinity. Talking about the case, Cachar Superintendent of Police, Ramandeep Kaur said, “On Monday morning, August 23, we got information that a dead body of a woman has been found lying inside her own house. After reaching the scene, we found the body in a bloody state and then sent it for postmortem. It was discovered that the woman had been living alone for quite some time as her son stays in Nagaland due to work.”

The Cachar SP also said that after the post-mortem report came and also based on initial investigation, an arrest has been made as a suspect. Although they claim that they’re not in a position to reveal anything else as of now until further investigation unravels, but it has been confirmed from sources that the arrested suspect happens to be related to the victim as well. Till then, the motive behind this gruesome murder of an elderly lady is still under dark clouds.
