Cachar Police detains invigilator of MHC HS School who photographed TET booklet
After the TET Question Paper went viral on Social Media, it was just a matter of time before someone got arrested. Barak Bulletin broke the news today morning stating that the booklet was leaked from MHC HS School’s Room Number 4. Soon after the news was published, the head of the Centre, Mustafizur Rahman lodged an FIR.
What comes in as another breaking news, Cachar Police has detained the invigilator from his rented apartment in Sonabarighat. Baharul Alom Kausar Barbhuiya, who is a teacher of the MHC HS School and a resident of Hailakandi, has been detained by Rangirkhari Police. Confirming the development, SP Cachar Ramandeep Kaur said, “He is being interrogated and we will take action based on the investigation and pieces of evidence we collect.”
It is worth mentioning here that Baharul Alom Kausar Barbhuiya had confessed during the departmental probe initiated by the head of the centre as per the instruction of the Inspector of Schools. In his confession, he had said that he clicked photographs of the booklet after the examination was over and only to check the question paper for his understanding. He said that he sent the photographs to his roommate Aszad Hussain Laskar who also is a teacher.
Speaking with Barak Bulletin, Baharul Alom Kausar Barbhuiya said, “When I went back home and was checking the papers for my understanding, my roommate and a colleague in the fraternity insisted I send them to him as he also wanted to have a glance at the paper. Both of us discussed the question papers and once I woke up in the evening after a nap, I saw the photographs of question paper went viral on social media.”
The Police are investigating the case further to get the intention behind scanning the question papers by violating the TET guidelines. As per the rule, the booklets should be sealed and kept in a safe in the centre till the results are declared. What actions are taken against the invigilator is something that remains to be seen.
