SMCH's Harry Potter styled-Saraswati Puja was a crowd puller, see photos of the 'magical' pandal

Silchar Medical College and Hospital’s Saraswati Puja this year was celebrated with Harry Potter  theme. The puja that is being celebrated in the Boy’s Hostel of the College is organized by the students of the college studying MBBS UG.

This year’s theme was chosen “Harry Potter” after the famous fantasy book series by J. K. Rowling. The students displayed posters from the movie series “Harry Potter” played by Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and others. There were photo booths and props for clicking pictures. The best of the “Harry Potter Wizarding World”, was put to display by the students of the Medical College.

According to a Convenor of the Puja Committee, “This year’s theme was chosen after the Wizarding World because we all can relate to this theme very much. Also there are weird similarities between their world and our world”.

“The Anjali started at 10:00 AM and went upto 1 in the afternoon. Thereafter prasad distribution started, which was lunch for all our seniors, batch mates, juniors and including our teachers. During Saraswati Puja everyone visits our hostel and we celebrate it together”.

This year’s college Annual Magazine “Panchami”, was also inaugurated today by the editorial board headed by the Chief Editor, Shahin Ahmed Choudhury of MBBS. This year’s puja was affected greatly by the rain but still the committee managed it well.
