
Outstanding Silchar Sporting brings Arunachal SS' winning streak to an end in Ramanuj Gupta Super Division
After suffering a 4 – 0 defeat against the mighty unbeaten Arunachal SS, it was an uphill task for the Silchar Sporting Today, as they took on the same opponent in the super four of the Ramanuj Gupta Super Division Football tournament. Subir Dey’s Silchar Sporting went up the hill and in style.
Arunachal SS that grabbed three points each time they entered the field in this Super Division had to concede two points. The match ended 1 – 1 but it could have been worse for the unbeaten team of the tournament. With their fantastic football throughout the tournament, they have established themselves as the strong favourite. However, the loopholes in the Arunachal SS were exposed by the Silchar Sporting.
In the first half of the match, Silchar Sporting were dominating the play. But, the lack of finishing abilities was hurting then. Eventually, at the 42nd minute of the match, Sporting were handed the advantage by Jese Pulamate’s goal. In the 61st minute of the match, the goal machine for the Arunachal SS, Rakesh Das scored the equaliser. Sporting got many more chances but could not finish and so, both the teams had to remain satisfied with one point.
With this, both the teams are locked horns at four points each after two matches in the Super Four of the Ramanuj Gupta Super Division Football.
