Accident at Masimpur BSF Camp, one Jawan dies after falling from rooftop
Hukam Singh Gelala (44) – a BSF Jawan, part of the 134 Battalion, will not be able to return home forever. Humak Singh was posted at Patarkandi Sector, and he was granted leave from today, as he had plans for visiting his family in his native place in Madhya Pradesh. Before he headed home, he presumbly decided to enjoy some time with his friend. But little did he know, the alcohol would become Hukam’s last supper as he would fall from the roof top and die on the spot.
The incident occurred at Masimpur BSF camp on Friday. His colleagues recovered him and took him to the camp hospital; from where he was referred to Silchar Medical College. Once there, he was declared dead by the physicians. The in-charge of Arunachal Police Outpost was intimated about the incident of Friday midnight at around 3:30 am; he rushed to the spot and found bottles of wine on that spot. It’s suspected that the slain personnel might have lost balance because he was over drunk.
“We were informed about the incident around 3:20 am, we went to the spot and found bottles of wine, glass, and footings scattered over there. We suspectil that he was over drunk, and somehow lost the balance and fell from the top,” informed the in-charge of Arunachal Police Outpost.
