Jayanta Mallah Baruah to be the new Guardian Minister of Cachar and Hailakandi, Karimganj - Pijush Hazarika

The Parliamentary Affairs Department of the Government of Assam has reshuffled the list of Guardian Ministers of various districts. Jayanta Malla Baruah has been assigned to Cachar district along with Hailakandi. Jayanta Malla Baruah has replaced Ashok Singhal as the Guardian Minister. Pijush Hazarika has been assigned Karimganj along with Sonitpur and Biswanath districts.

Jayanta Malla Baruah, the Minister of Public Health Engineering, Skill Development, Employment & Entrepreneurship and Tourism has been assigned as the Guardian Minister of Cachar, Hailakandi and Dhubri as well. Pijush Hazarika, the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and also the Spokesperson of Government of Assam has been made the Guardian Minister of Karimganj along with Biswanath and Sonitpur. This notification has come as the “Orders by the Governor”, the notification read, “The Governor of Assam is pleased to assign the following districts to the Hon’ble Ministers to function as Guardian Ministers”.

The list signed by the Chief Secretary to the Government of Assam has made other changes to the earlier existing Guardian Ministers of various districts. Parimal Suklabaidya, the Transport, Excise and Fisheries Minister of Assam who was earlier been the Guardian Minister of both Hailakandi and Karimganj has now been also assigned Nagaon and Hojai. The earlier Guardian Minister of Cachar, Ashok Singhal has now been given the responsibility of Kokrajhar and Goalpara districts. There are a total 15 Guardian Ministers responsible for the 35 districts of Assam.
