CM Himanta Biswa Sarma to reach Silchar on Oct 1, will leave for Karimganj on the same day
Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma will visit Barak Valley to be a part of the local Puja celebration. Senior sources in Cachar District Administration informed that the chief minister will visit Silchar on October 1, 2022. He will leave from Cachar on the same day for Karimganj.
After the Covid disruption, this year, emerging from the devastation of flood, Silchar has geared up to celebrate Durga Puja with pomp. Tall pandals as well as thematic Puja arrangements are being planned during inauguration ceremony.
Cachar DC Rohan Kumar Jha confirmed that the chief minister of Assam will visit the district on his way to Karimganj.
Cachar SP Numal Mahatta, speaking with Barak Bulletin said that the official itinerary is still awaited. However, the SP made it clear that the district Police formation is prepared to ensure a safe Puja and arrangements as the CM’s visit is a part of the Puja plan.
Cachar Police has already released the traffic plan to control the vehicular traffic. Apart from that, the Romeo squad has been mobilised to ensure women safety. This squad will patrol the area and check for eve teasing.
